Well, not quite. But a group of enterprising people have begun to meet regularly in SL to discuss sustainability and climate change issues. They are led by Jessica Williams, a blogger at oneclimate.net.
The folks met at a Focus the Nation event a month ago and have been meeting in SL every Thursday to discuss issues related to the environment.
“I have been exploring SL for about a month now,” Williams writes, “and one of the most distinctive benefits I have found is simply the greater international connections I have in Second Life then on other networking sites or websites. There is something about visually seeing someone (or at least their representation of themselves) that allows an easier connection and also commitment to be present than just a chat board on a Website. I am really excited about the possibilities.”
