HBO Picks up Second Life Movie Rights

Molotov has it made! HBO has picked up the television rights to the Machima films about a man who leaves behind his “real world” and becomes entirely virtual.

The story is even more fascinating, I think, because although HBO only picked up the broadcast rights, I see a whole spin-off series – something along the lines of Carnivale or Deadwood, only in Second Life, an exploration of issues of identity, virtual and real, fantasy…ahhhh the mind spins! And I imagine they’ll have a virtual space to watch the real world representation of the virtual story made by a real person….ah, you get the drift, creative possibilities are endless.
